Welcome back! I am excited to start the new school year at Hampton! I will be seeing all kindergarten, first, fourth, and fifth grade students twice a week and second and third grade students once a week. We will be singing, playing, and learning in a variety of musical experiences until the end of January. I will then be leaving to begin teaching music to Kolb students and Hampton students will be receiving art instruction with Mrs. Vandermoter until the end of the school year.
We will be focusing on steady beat in the lower grades and basic note reading with the older students during the month of September. All students will be using both pitched and non pitched instruments. Fifth graders will begin recorder instruction. There will be more information coming concerning recorders!
We will also be celebrating Constitution Day in class with special songs. We will learn some traditional historic songs at the end of the month just before the River of Time event in Bay City.
There will be more information on this page for students and parents throughout the school year. I am looking forward to seeing all of you!
